Day by Day
How the trip actually unfolds.
Gear up & acclimatize
Depart Nairobi for Naromoru, gear sorting, then a 3-hour forest hike and afternoon acclimatization trek. Overnight at Judmaier Camp (Full Board).
Sirimon Track
Hike the Sirimon Track to Liki North Valley, between Teleki and Sendeyo peaks. Overnight in high-altitude tents at Liki North Camp (Full Board).
Mackinders Valley
Trek through Mackinders Valley with stunning views. Overnight at Shiptons Camp (4,300m), high-altitude tents (Full Board).
Via Austrian Hut
Descend via Austrian Hut to Teleki Lodge for breakfast, then hike to Met Station. Overnight in high-altitude tents (Full Board).
Return
Morning trek through the forest to Naromoru Park Gate for pickup and return to Nairobi.
Practical Info
- Carry your passport, travel insurance details, and any prescription or preventative medication
- Bring a hat, sunblock, sunglasses, a camera, and binoculars
- Pack light — 15kg of hand luggage makes transfers between camps easier
- Wear neutral-coloured clothing (khaki, olive, brown) for game drives
- Keep a respectful distance and stay quiet near wildlife
- Carry cash (KES/USD) for tips and personal purchases
- Follow your driver-guide’s instructions at all times
- Confirm any dietary needs or medical conditions before departure
- Don’t stand up, lean out, or exit the vehicle during game drives
- Don’t feed or attempt to touch any wildlife
- Don’t use flash photography near animals
- Don’t wear bright colours or all-white/black on game drives
- Don’t litter in parks, conservancies, or camps
- Don’t stray from the group without your guide in wildlife areas
- Accommodation and meals as stipulated in the itinerary
- Pick up and drop off at the Nairobi hotel
- Transport in a chauffeur-driven Safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for easy game viewing & photography
